Stokholm
Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, is spread across islands off the Baltic coast. It is the country's largest city, with around 1.6 million inhabitants. The seat of the government, the parliament and the royal family, it is the political, economic and cultural centre of Sweden. Founded in the 13th century, Stockholm delights with the historic Gamla Stan and its modern districts. The temperate maritime climate brings mild winters and warm summers, making the period from May to September ideal for a visit.
